Damned either way.

Cynics are saying: "He'll appoint Hilary because that's the deal he made to get her out of the race to the convention." If he appoints Hilary as the result of a true, sober process of comparison, the cynics will say: "See, I told you."

Do you think appointing Hillary to State will be the end of the Hillary White House Dream?

If Hillary remains in the Senate, she can pursue her own agenda. As Secretary of State, she will be representing Obama. She could use this at a springboard to run for president but in eight years she will be 69.

I have to wonder... With the damage done the Bush admin from leaks coming out of State... Would she be representing Obama? Could he fall prey to similar leaks from a much more adept leaker?

The age thing could get her, if Obama has a strong first term to run on. Sure makes me wonder.

I have to admit... I never trusted her. To me, Obama can see her better at arms length and not behind him...

How we screw our good, established programs should not be the reason to stop using them. The Secretary of State is not supposed to be the fox chewing on the President's belly, but rather to be his expression of US policy abroad. The President should fire a Secy. of State that doesn't follow that accepted plan.
